Record Time Instead of Fighting It
If you try to fight an addiction, at times you merely make it stronger. One simple trick is to simply have a pen and paper, and record how you spend each day.
Try writing the types of activities you want to do in your week, for instance: socializing, working, relaxing, using the computer, and other important categories. Ideally, all of these activities will be broken up to be more or less important - you want to spend an equal amount of time on each over a week.
Then, each day, mark which ones you have spent your time the most in. Use fractions if necessary. As your addiction outpaces the other activities, you won’t need to consciously change your activities, simple awareness will result in change.
Recording your time is an inconvenience, but it is a lot easier than trying to manage your addiction most other ways.
